Dear friends of ski sports!

The long wait is over. In only a few days, the fifth season – the Nordic season – finally begins in Oberstdorf! The preparations for the traditional opening event of the Vierschanzentournee, the Tour de Ski and the other World Cup events are already running at full speed. And all over the village, you can feel the anticipation of meeting the world’s best ski jumpers and cross-country skiers again!

Over and over again, it is nice to see how passionately and enthusiastically the people of Oberstdorf celebrate Nordic ski sports. This is why I’m also personally looking forward to meeting the large ski family again!

Since the terrific FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in 2005, more than 10 years have passed by now, but as soon as the many thousands of fans start to shout out their famous “Hopp-Hopp” or “Ziieeeh”, I’m getting the goose bumps like in 2005.

This year, I will work as a backstage reporter for the Fan-TV in the stadium during the Tour de Ski in Oberstdorf. Among other things, I will have to convey the fascination and enthusiasm for “ski sports” to the spectators.

Honestly: I’ve already had jobs, which were a lot more difficult...
